You can now sign up for a New Providence Memorial Library card online!
Online registration is for patrons who don’t currently have a card from a library that participates in the Main Library Alliance. Patrons who register through the online registration process will have a fully functional card; your online card registration will provide you with a barcode that you can access through Apple/Google Wallet or the Main SOLUS app. If you also wish to receive a physical library card, you may register online and then visit the library in person. You may also apply for a card at the library.
New Providence taxpayers and residents are eligible for a free library card, offering full service at the New Providence Memorial Library, as well as online borrowing privileges in other libraries belonging to Main Library Alliance and in-person reciprocal borrowing through the MUF or MURAL consortia. Individuals who live in communities that are members of MAIN, MUF or MURAL must apply for a library card in their home library.
Children under the age of 14 must have their registration cards signed by a parent or guardian.
Proof of a New Providence address is required at the time of registration.
Library cards must be renewed every three years; proof of address is required for card renewal. As a courtesy, library cards in good standing may be renewed by phone for three months. At the end of the three month period, proof of address will be required for renewal.
