The archive (1949-present) of the oldest, most widely known and respected popular U.S. history magazine.  Great for student reports.

BrainFuse HelpNow 
Submit questions to live tutors daily from 2 PM to 10 PM, track homework assignments, and access flashcards and practice tests. Students can share files with tutors for review in the Writing Lab.

Comics Plus
Thousands of digital comics, graphic novels, and manga (both new and backlist titles) without any waitlists or limits. Read online or in the Comics Plus app.

Consumer Library Information Prescription
CLIP program is a free medical information service provided by the Atlantic Health System Libraries. CLIP medical librarians help you get accurate, easy to understand, relevant and up-to-date resources on conditions, diseases, and procedures.

Encyclopedia Britannica
Explore the fact-checked online encyclopedia from Encyclopaedia Britannica with hundreds of thousands of objective articles and biographies.

HealthSource: Consumer Edition
Search for articles in health magazines, pamphlets and reference books that were written for the public, not the medical community.

HealthSource: Nursing/Academic Edition 
Search for journal articles on nursing and allied health topics, including pediatric nursing, critical care, mental health, nursing management, medical law and more.

HeritageQuest provides genealogical and historical sources for more than 60 countries, with coverage dating back as early as the 1700s. It is rich in unique primary sources, local and family histories, and finding aids.  It provides the same census data as for the US, UK and Canada.  Unlike Ancestry, you need to select the collection you wish to search (for example, all censuses) before searching for a person.

Hoopla Digital
Read e-books and comics, listen to audiobooks and music or watch movies in the Hoopla Digital app or on their website. There are no waiting lists. However, the library has a daily budget max. If you hit it, you'll need to try to check out your item again the next day or after midnight. You will need your library card barcode number and PIN (last four digits of your library card barcode number) to create a free account.

Image Collection
More than 1 million images, mostly photographs and maps, with an emphasis on world news and events. Other areas of coverage include contemporary and historical photos of people, places, and the natural kingdom.

Independent Press
Local newspapers from the 1960s, 1970s and 1990s.

JerseyCat - ILL
Search the collections of all New Jersey public libraries and many college libraries with JerseyCat. You may also place interlibrary loan requests.  JerseyCat should only be used if the book does not appear in the MAIN Library Alliance catalog.

Literary Reference Source
Literary journals, reference books and other publications provide literary criticism, plot summaries, author biographies and interviews, and more. Literary Reference Source also contains the full text of selected poems, short stories and classic texts.

More than 3,000 on demand courses on tech, business and creative courses including 3D and animation, audio and music, business, CAD, design, developer, education and e-learning, IT, marketing, photography courses, and video and web. Log in with your library card number and PIN (last 4 digits of your library card barcode number).

Mango Languages 
Customizable courses for more than 70 world languages, including English taught in other languages, in a highly-rated app or online in your browser.  To get started, click "Sign Up" and have your library card barcode number handy.

MasterFILE Elite
Full-text magazines, periodicals and reference books on a wide range of subject areas, and an extensive collection of photos, maps and flags.

MiddleSearch Plus
Popular middle school magazines and reference books, as well as biographies and primary source documents.

Military & Government Collection
Offers current news on all branches of the military and government, including a collection of 300 periodicals and academic journals.

NJ MVC Practice Driving Tests & Manual 
Study the NJ Driving Manual and take practice tests to prepare you for the written test to earn your New Jersey Graduated License permit. Free downloadable manual and free practice tests online for all ages.

New Providence Archives
Local newspapers from 1966-67,1973,1990,1992-94, and 2006-2009, plus the New Providence Scrapbook, a digitized collection of news clippings and other materials related to New Providence and NJ history.

New Providence Municipal Budget
Select "User Friendly Budget" and "New Providence Borough" from the drop down menus. The budget will download as an Excel file.

Newspaper Source Plus

The Palace Project
Download the Palace Project app in Google Play or the App Store to read or listen to over 20,000 free ebooks and audiobooks curated by the Digital Public Library of America and the New Jersey State Library. Go to Settings and Add Your Library. When you are prompted to log in, use your library card barcode and password (last four digits of the barcode). Books check out for 14 days.  The Palace Project is not compatible with Kindles.

Animated, talking picture books for children plus read-along chapter books, National Geographic videos, non-fiction books, graphic novels and math stories.

The Wall Street Journal
US business and economic-focused international daily newspaper based in New York. Log in with your 14 digit library card barcode and PIN (last four digits of your card), then sign in to the Wall Street Journal for free 3-day access to  When your 3 days are up, come back to this link and then sign into the WSJ again.
