To access Ancestry from home: go to My Account, log in with your New Providence library card barcode number and PIN (last 4 digits of your card number). Then click on Ancestry.com. Here is where the Ancestry link will be found on that page:
FamilySearch lets you search some genealogical records, family trees, and create your own family tree online.
New Providence Memorial Library is a FamilySearch Affiliate Library. At NPML, you can view over 400 million digital original records in FamilySearch, including name indexes and images, that cannot be viewed from home. You may use the library computers or your own laptop connected to the library wifi to access them on FamilySearch. Please note, FamilySearch Affiliate Libraries have access to most Family History Center-only databases, but not all. You may need to visit a Family History Center for some records.
HeritageQuest allows you to search Census records, books (family and local histories), wills & probate records, city directories, military records, immigration records, the Social Security Death Index, cemeteries and more.
You may search HeritageQuest from home.
